“When we liberate ourselves from the expectation that we must have all things figured out, we enter a sanctuary of empathy.”

SONYA RENEE TAYLOR

WELCOME

I am a relational psychotherapist working with individuals and couples in the East Bay and San Francisco Bay Area.

Therapy is a dedicated time and space to learn more about yourself and what may be getting in the way of the kind of life that you wish to live. You may be here because you are experiencing sadness, anxiety, or overwhelm, navigating life transitions, dealing with family stress or dynamics, or feeling unfulfilled in your work and frustrated in your relationships. Perhaps you are in need of support with processing a recent trauma or healing the aches of past wounds. You may be feeling lonely or isolated and seeking a sense of meaning, purpose, and belonging. If you find yourself grappling with indecisions and uncertain about how to move forward in your life, or if you are curious about patterns in your experiences, interested in making shifts in your life, and wanting to experience more connection, ease, and joy — I can help with this.

My approach is warm, empathic, collaborative, and pragmatic. I listen carefully to clients’ concerns, respond thoughtfully with curiosity and intention, and offer a nonjudgmental space that encourages clients to bring their full selves to therapy. Clients are able to gain new insight and learn new ways of relating that are freer of the characteristics that previously brought distress. Through our work together in this deliberate process of introspection and reflection, you may discover how early experiences and your external world have shaped you, find resolutions to core conflicts and issues, and begin to think creatively about how to make choices that align with the life that you envision for yourself.
